Long Grass Nature Refuge is a private wildlife refuge in southeast Queensland registered with the Queensland Government as a Nature Refuge. Located on 1200 acres of pristine bushland on an elevated plateau on the edge of the great dividing range, the property is about 35km southwest of Gatton and lies between the Darling Downs and the Lockyer Valley. The refuge is mostly remnant vegetation that is part of a larger core habitat area identified as having State nature conservation significance in the Queensland Government 'Regional Nature Conservation Strategy for South East Queensland 2003-2008.' It directly adjoins the southern boundary of the Dywers Scrub Conservation Park and is dominated by two deep sandstone gorges with impressive escarpments and rock formations. The beds of the gorges have rainforest, and the upper escarpments have eucalypt and ironbark woodland. The property has approximately 6 km of frontage to Ma Ma Creek which is the route of the Bicentennial National Trail. Approximately 150 acres of the property was previously cleared grazing land. Six dams provide water for wildlife and horses. Long Grass has been operating a successful AirBnB business since March 2019. The property is connected to the power grid and has satellite NBN. It features a comfortable 2 storey home with 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area. Adjacent to the house is a large freestanding shed with workshop, storeroom and carport, coolroom, 80,000 litres of rain water tanks and a large vegetable garden. • Large mitsubishi diesel generator • Windmill with permanent bore • Firefighting unit • Chemical sprayer on carryall • 3 older horses • Multiple sheds Then we have the 100 year old original farm house that has been restored and furnished in the original style
